Violences During The Gay Pride Of Moscow

gay_pride_moscow

The Gay Pride of Moscow took place but unfortunately the things did not occur very well.

In spite of the ban of the mayor of the city, the gay militants had decided to gather to celebrate the Gay Pride. Other demonstrators, homophobe, did the same. Violences started and of many arrests, the police apparently arrested 34 persons.

Among the arrested people was the French Louis-Georges Tin, founder of the international Day against homophobia and transphobia, the famous American gay soldier Dan Choi and the British Peter Tatchell, pioneer of the processions in favor of the equal rights for homosexuals.

Welcome back, kittens! Miss me? Or should I ask, miss the dramatastic world that is Seattle Grace Mercy West?

The world that serves up such gems as “I am a hormone casserole!”

And that's only the beginning! There will be babies, there will be double-crossing, and there will be some surgery thrown into the mix...if they can find the time!

No Lesbian Magazines Means She Is Not Lesbian

A request for asylum of an Ugandan lesbian was refused because she did not read lesbian magazines.

I I know that appears insane but however it is what happened at Brenda Namigadde who had made a request to stay in England.

But the first-tier tribunal immigration judge finally decided that she was not lesbian because didn't read neither lesbian magazines, nor books,…:

“The Appellant appears to have taken no interest in forms of media by magazines, books, or other information relating to her sexual orientation,” the judge is claimed to have said, adding: “While there is no requirement to do so it does seem strange … that she has not done so.”

Here is the complete text of the judgment:

“I find that the Appellant was not and is not, on the evidence before me, a lesbian. l End that her credibility is affected by her conduct. l am not obliged to accept her say so of these issues. l find such peripheral information to describe what went on, either in Uganda or in the United Kingdom, very generalised and quite simply lacking in the kind of detail and information of someone genuinely living that lifestyle. The Appellant claims to have freedom to live a life unconstrained and without prejudice. l find the information as to how she has done so over the lengthy period she has been in the United Kingdom singularly lacking in detail or coherence. The Appellant appears to have taken no interest in forms of media by magazines, books or other information relating to her sexual orientation. Whilst there is no requirement to do so it does seem strange, if she is exercising the real sense of freedom she claims, that she does not do so.”

For the moment, she is obliged to stay in a detention center before being heard by the Supreme Court, which is completely unacceptable.

The justice minister however declared “whatever the circumstances surrounding Ms Namigadde’s presence in Britain, it is clear that she cannot be deported to Uganda at present,"

“Both the public mood and the official stance towards homosexuals in Uganda are lethal at the moment – we should not be contemplating sending my constituents back to a society where she will be in grave danger of her life.

“I call upon Damian Green [the immigration minister] to intervene personally to halt this deportation immediately and suspend the removal notice against my constituent, until we can find a resolution to this case that does not involve sending Ms Namigadde to face certain persecution and possible death.”

Gay Whistler

by Arielle Marie McFadden

No, this isn’t about the Bob Sinclair and Steve Edwards song whose “whistle” blows loud in gay clubs across the world…it’s about an epic event I wish I knew about sooner: the annual Gay & Lesbian Ski & Snowboard Festival - GayWhistler's WinterPRIDE!

It happened January 30-February 6, 2011, and I’m already looking forward to the 2012 date February 5 - 12, 2012.
